Ashley Metzger’s Busy Summer at the Lititz Historical Society

First year student Ashley Metzger spent her summer working at the Lititz Historical Society in Lititz, Pennsylvania. As a docent she dressed in 18th century Moravian costume, and gave tours of the Muller House, which focuses on the early life of the Moravians (the Protestant sect which founded the town). She also designed and installed an exhibit documenting the history of area high schools. Ashley also joined the Outreach Committee for the historical society, and was involved in the planning of the Family Fall Fest, which included creating 18th century games for children. Ashley was also responsible for recruiting and directing the museum’s volunteers. In addition to this she developed the museum’s internship program.
